All of the lip balms offered in my shop are created with healing and protection in mind rather than simply offering a sweet treat for the lips. But while using nourishing, skin loving ingredients, there is no reason we can't have a little fun with them. If you like cherries or better yet, cherry pie, you'll love this option for lip protection and healing for chapped lips.
Many flavored lip balms taste great but just may be adding to the problem by encouraging the tendency to lick. Habitually licking your lips only makes things worse. What happens with many commercial products is that this cycle results in the need to continually be reaching for the lip balm, thus the need to be buying more. Big business isn't concerned with healing your tender mouth. What many lip balms contain that ours does not are ingredients such as alcohol, mineral oil, dyes or artificial sweeteners.
Cocoa butter comes from the cocoa bean. It is highly protective in that it prevents dehydration by staying on the surface of the skin. In doing so it has water-repellent properties so it is great to take along to the pool or the beach.
Sunflower oil in not only a great moisturizer and nourishing for your skin but also adds a protective barrier against irritants. High in essential fatty acids, vitamins A, D, and E, sunflower seed oil is a good choice for the delicate skin around the mouth . Also ideal for those that have a nut allergy and cannot use a nut oil.
Though on its own, castor oil is a bit messy to use, it is wonderful for skin care. Castor oil penetrates deep into the skin and helps keep it hydrated and smooth. Also awesome because it adds a bit of shine.
Beeswax is the natural wax substance that hives produce. Essential not only in that it solidifies the oils and butters, beeswax is wonderful for its healing, softening and antibacterial properties.
There is no coloring or tints added.
Since whatever is in a lip balm inevitably gets ingested you can be assured there are no potentially toxic preservatives added. Lip balms usually aren't around long enough to worry about spoilage.
The word "flavor" in flavoring oil isn't exactly what it sounds like. Flavor oils are really lip safe fragrances. They smell but do not taste. The brain gets tricked into thinking you are tasting the flavor when you are actually smelling it. To offer a bit of taste I add some stevia sweetener. Stevia is a plant whose leaves are the source for a no calorie sweetener. The company from which I get the flavor oils states that their oils are made with natural flavor ingredients.
Cherry lip balm comes in a lip balm tube and sealed for your protection.
